Letter: Ranked Choice Voting Is Easy

Submitted (unpublished) Letter to the Editor, Bloomington Sun Current

I just used ranked choice voting for the first time to vote for city council, and it was very easy and convenient. The election judge at city hall explained how to fill out the ballot and was available to answer questions. I appreciate that I only had to go out once this year to vote, since we don’t need a primary for city council elections anymore.

One of my friends received her mail-in ballot, which included a helpful instruction sheet that explained how ranked choice voting works. Kudos to the city elections staff on great voter education. I’m glad that Bloomington is using ranked choice voting for city elections. It’s simple, efficient, and cost effective.
