The Presidential Nomination Primary is the process to select major-party presidential candidates. It replaces the former caucus straw polls. This election will be held on Tuesday, March 3. Absentee/early voting is Jan. 17 through March 2, and can be done by mail or in person at Bloomington City Hall during normal office hours. Extended absentee voting hours – Saturday, Feb. 29 (10 a.m.–3 p.m.) and Monday, March 2 (8 a.m.–5 p.m.).
Voters must select one major political party, and will vote for the candidate they want to represent the party in the 2020 presidential election.
Precinct caucuses will still be held Feb. 25 for all other elected offices and to conduct other party business.
